OneSTOP partners organise activity/workshop for the Iberian Week of Invasive Species 2025

07.04.2025

The Iberian Week of Invasive Species returns in May 2025, bringing together organisations and experts to raise awareness and share knowledge on tackling Invasive Alien Species (IAS). This initiative, supported by several conservation organisations and projects, highlights the growing need for effective strategies to manage biological invasions across the Iberian Peninsula.

As part of this year’s programme, OneSTOP partners from BIOPOLIS-CIBIO will conduct a Living Lab workshop on 8 May, focusing on co-creation and knowledge exchange in IAS management. The session will introduce the OneSTOP project, discuss innovative approaches to biodiversity monitoring, and engage participants in activities to identify key local stakeholders in the fight against invasive species.

Invasive species pose a significant threat to native biodiversity, ecosystems and landscapes, particularly in regions like the North of Portugal where the Portugal Living Lab will be established. By fostering collaboration and sharing practical solutions, the OneSTOP workshop aims to support more effective and coordinated efforts in controlling biological invasions in this region.
